(Please note this is an in person multi-day short course)
STEAMhouse Digital Foundations Short Course is for anyone eager to explore the fundamentals of AR design and dive deeper into practical AR creation and effects as well as understand how this technology could be applied to there own practices.

You must be a registered STEAMhouse member to take part on this course. You must also be free and available to attend these in person workshops at STEAMhouse on the following dates and times.

Key Learning Outcomes
Discover how to use Spark AR Studio to create an interactive augmented reality poster filter for the STEAMhouse building launch in October 2022. You will learn to learn how they can apply the fundamentals established to other areas of AR design. We will enter an explorative research project in how you as a practitioner can look to adopt this emerging digital technology into your everyday practice by providing you with the insight and skills to translate AR tech into your own projects and workflows.
Technical requirements
⦁ A computer capable of running Spark AR and a smartphone for testing purposes. To find out if your computer is compatible with the program, check the minimum requirements on Spark AR’s official website.
⦁ Download Spark AR Studio (you can download it online for free)
⦁ Facebook account required
⦁ Basic knowledge of 3D for object modelling
⦁ Knowledge of creating and editing 2D images using programs like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or Procreate.
⦁ Comfortable with physical collaging techniques to produce poster / visual design materials.
⦁ Download and sign up for Slack to receive course updates and interact with the learning content and fellow course members.
