Birmingham’s acclaimed creative industries event, Maker Monday, returns on 19/02 with special guest James Edward Marks.

Established in 2015, Maker Monday is a monthly event where you get to meet and learn from amazing and inspirational people from across the broad creative industries both in the West Midlands and beyond.

Join us for our latest event at 1000 Trades on Monday 19th February 6-8pm with our special guest James Edward Marks. More guests tba.

James Edward Marks is a mixed reality extraordinaire and has has been described as a “modern-day sorcerer” when it comes to pushing the boundaries of emerging immersive technology.

He is the co-founder of PlayLa.bZ, a ‘multi-dimensional arts and social mixed reality experience zone’ which is housed in Ravensbourne University’s Institute for Creativity and Technology.

His transcendent and award-winning work has included internationally renowned clients and collaborators including the British Film Institute, The Guardian, BBC Click, MozFest, V&A, Tate Modern, London Fashion Week, ComicCon, YouTube, RSC, ArtFutura and Birmingham’s very own BOM, to name but a few.

Informed, insightful and with an awareness of how we can shape our futures through technology, come and meet James and find how he is leading the way in showcasing how mixed reality technology has the potential to revolutionise many industries including film, music, animation, theatre and gaming.
