10:00am - 17:00pm

STEAMhouse, Belmont Works, Cardigan St, Birmingham B4 7RQ

Create your own digital character animation and learn the key fundamentals of motion capture, all in one day, from one of the industry’s most successful companies with our exciting workshop.

Explore first-hand the important aspects of Rokoko software, which allows you to capture real-time motion via one portable suit. You will also gain key understanding of the workflow and processes behind this amazing technology, as well as having the opportunity to try the suit on yourself.

This workshop is delivered in collaboration with Hollywood Gaming, an established technology provider for immersive experiences that has worked with a host of leading companies, including Hasbro, Paramount and EA Games.

Please note that this workshop is for STEAMhouse Create members only.

Key Learning Outcomes

Discover how to set up and use the Rokoko motion capture suit by having the option to use one yourself. Alongside this, you will learn how to navigate the processing software motion library, that will capture and record your choreographed movement sequence. This material will then be processed and rigged up to a digital character of your choosing.

At the culmination of the workshop, you will receive your own FBX / MP4 file documenting your own motion sequence

Preparing for the workshop.

Please be aware that, if you are willing to wear a motion capture suit, there will be some physical contact as we rig you up and place sensors. Those interested in wearing a suit must wear close-fitting clothing, such as shorts, T-shirts and leggings, as the suit will struggle to accommodate normal clothing. You must be a registered STEAMhouse member to take part on this course. If you’re not a member, sign up now.
