Join us for our Christmas social at STEAMhouse, find out more about Materials Club, see the space, and meet the community.
Are you a local small business, designer, artist, creative, student, freelancer, or individual passionate about or interested in sustainability?
If so, come and join us for a casual evening of good conversation with like minded people, with free refreshments and Christmas treats.
Learn more about STEAMhouse, Materials Club and the community of businesses working in our space, all with a focus on sustainability.
This will be a relaxed and enjoyable evening, bring a friend and feel at home with a great bunch of passionate individuals! The perfect place to find your next like- minded collaborator and get thinking about projects for the new year.

Where is this event?
This event will be held at STEAMhouse, with free refreshments and a Christmas sweet treat. There will also be an opportunity to have a noisy around the workshop spaces available to all members. You are invited you to join us from 5.30pm onwards for a casual festive social.
Who can come along?
Anyone! Individuals, businesses, business owners, artists, designers, creatives, students, academics, makers and anyone in between!

What is Materials Club?
Materials Club has been active as a community-led research group in Birmingham since 2019. Now in its third year, it has become a creative-led space exploring questions related to sustainability and our ecological future, through deep material practices.
We support business and individuals, and cultivate projects that look to tackle sustainability through the use of materials in new, different, and sustaining ways. This includes working with waste, nature, and within the values of circular design. We encourage collaboration and open conversation allowing new knowledge to be shared and developed collectively. This is a space to be inspired, learn, engage, and become part of a growing community.
Our monthly Materials Club Talks invite practitioners to share new and interesting materials practices. Each month a different STEAMhouse member will invite a guest to share their materials practice. Their presentation will be followed by an open discussion that will delve deeper into our guest’s personal values and motivations for their work, with a focus on materiality and our current global context. Look out for information on our January Talk coming soon.
