Commercial Investment Workshop for Creative Entrepreneurs

This event is for STEAMhouse members only.

David Edmonds, Director of Advantage Creative, is running a session designed to provide an insight into the different kinds of sponsorship, commercial and equity funding, available to product designers, designer-makers and creative entrepreneurs.

This event will provide you with a practical hands-on workshop to help you prepare for sponsorship/commercial investment for creative entrepreneurs.

Spaces for this event are limited (up to 15 max) and an Expression of Interest Form needs to be completed and returned to Sophia.tarr@bcu.ac.uk by Friday 23rd November 2018.

The workshop will explain what the investor and lender will be looking for from when receiving an application/proposal and how and why they come to a decision.

What do sponsors and grant providers consider?

How best to present a new idea or product to a potential investor or lender

What is the stake, liquidity and profitability for the idea/ product?

DAVID EDMONDS BACKGROUND

David’s background is in Corporate Banking (at a senior level), Venture Capital (as the Fund Manager of Advantage Creative Fund) an appraiser for a Business Angel Network (Advantage Business Angels). He was the holder of a number of Managing Director, Non Executive Director and mentor roles across e.g. manufacturing, television production, health cash plan insurance, and a variety of creative industry businesses. He is currently Director and the Fund Manager of the Advantage Creative Fund and the Non Executive Chairman of Warwick Music Ltd – which he has seen rise from a concept stage to a dynamic and fast growing, globally trading company. He has been in the position of being an investor and lender as well as being on the other side of the desk as an applicant for business loans and investment.
