We are delighted to announce the second of our monthly VR Cafes for anyone who is working in or interested in finding out more about virtual reality (VR) in Birmingham.

There are so many questions around VR, so we want to build a virtual community for supporting innovative users in Birmingham – so come along, meet some of the team, ask any questions at beginners or advance level and hear from our two guest speakers Asha Easton from Immerse UK and Elizabeth Khorrami from Retinize, Belfast.

We will also be sharing details about our upcoming programme of online events. After our speakers have presented their work, we will have the chance for a Q&A session, and if you want to continue the discussion further join us from 7.30 pm-8.30 pm in our VR space!

STEAMhouse members who may be interested in developing their work through the Digital Engineering Technology & Innovation (DETI) programme are also invited along to hear more about digital enabling technologies and what STEAMhouse 1.5 can do for you.

Whether you’re an industry expert or a curious newbie, book your place to join our welcoming community today..

About the speakers…

Asha Easton – KTM, Immersive Experiences

After years of experience working in business development and consulting, Asha has become passionate about immersive technologies. She is a VR producer who is a natural networker in the XR community. Asha is an active member of several VR groups, including Women in Immersive Tech which helps to support women in the industry. She has run workshops with the VR Diversity Initiative in London to up-skill underrepresented groups in media and technology, and has spoken on panels internationally. Her focus at KTN is to expand the ImmerseUK community and grow the immersive tech ecosystem around the country.

Elizabeth Khorrami – BDM, Retinize

Elizabeth Khorrami currently serves as a Business Development Manager at Retinize, an immersive media studio in Belfast, where she leads the business development initiatives. Prior to joining Retinize in January 2020, Elizabeth completed her Masters in Business Administration at UWE Bristol where she conducted her dissertation as a consultancy-based project under Limina Immersive. Prior to moving to the U.K., Elizabeth worked in business development for 4 years for one of the U.S.’s largest cinema chains, Cinemark Theatres, where she helped launch The VOID’s first location in the central region of the United States.
