with guest Peta Murphy, Arts Council England

12 September, 6.30-8pm

We are delighted to host September’s PHOTO CAFÉ at STEAMhouse.

PHOTOCAFE is an informal discussion and meeting place, an event that invites speakers and participants to discuss ideas and debate topics and issues around contemporary photography, and network with others. The events are a chance to socialise, relax and enjoy learning about contemporary photography, practice and research.

We will be joined by Peta Murphy from Arts Council England. Peta has been a practising artist, run a participatory arts company and held a senior position within a local authority. In her current role as Senior Relationship Manager with Arts Council England, she works at a strategic policy level, managing partnerships with corporate, public and academic sectors.

Peta has supported areas of Creative Media and had responsibility for Fine Art Photography, working with artists to realise their ambitions through grant funded projects. Peta has a Masters in Creative Industry and Cultural Policy and is an Honorary Research Fellow for Coventry University. Before the move to policy roles within local government she set up and ran a participatory arts company for 10 years, and freelanced as a pyrotechnician working on large scale events, nationally and internationally.

As part of the PHOTO CAFÉ, STEAMhouse staff will also show attendees around the facilities, talk you through the programmes we deliver and explain how you can get involved.
