Location: Digital Workshop, STEAMhouse

This workshop is for STEAMhouse members only. Spaces are limited, so advanced booking is essential. Book your place by emailing ruth.claxton@bcu.ac.uk

Arduino is an open platform for electronics development, aimed at bringing enthusiasts and beginners together to create a worldwide community of developers, and enabling the fast prototyping of electronics solutions.

The workshop is suitable for creatives of any background with an interest in either developing their own projects or requiring an understanding of the platform to collaborate with experts. We will provide an overview of the Arduino family of development boards and how they can be used as powerful tools in the process of bringing an idea or concept to reality.

Capabilities and limitations will be demonstrated with a practical approach, elucidating the position of the Arduino platform in the growing electronics prototyping market.

The workshop is aimed at providing a complete overview of the platform, the fundamental knowledge needed to start using Arduino boards, and a good understanding of the process needed to plan and execute a small prototyping project.

The workshop will be led by Dr Rui Rodrigues. Rui is a researcher at the Warwick Manufacturing Group interested in developing biosensing solutions for the well-being and diagnostics markets.

His interest in electronics was born from the need to produce custom components for complex fluid handling, leading to the production of both mechanical and electronic prototypes.
