As part of DigiCities with BBC Academy, VR Birmingham provides insight into the latest developments in new technology.

Join us for VR Birmingham’s February 2021 event with our Host, Taran Singh, Taran3D and guest speaker, Jamie Bakewell, Bigtooth Studios – West Midlands based pre-visualisation service for Film/ TV /Games. He will be sharing his knowledge on how VR tools can be used in pre-visualisation and tips on using storyboards for animation, whether you are a beginner or experienced in this area of work.

Over the past 10 years, Jamie has worked James Bond: Skyfall, Guardians of The Galaxy, Fast 6 and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Working with Pawl Fulker at Destroy all Monsters, Jamie developed a massive love for storytelling.

Regardless of whether you are a complete beginner or have years of experience in AR/VR, it’s an opportunity to share and learn about the creative opportunities AR/VR technologies present.

Along with our guest speakers and host, we will also be joined by the STEAMhouse team and academics, so we can address any question, no matter how big or small to support you in further developing your digital knowledge and skills.

Jamie Bakewell is Company Director at Bigtooth Studios, which was founded in 2018.

At Bigtooth Studios he believes that the foundation to brilliant film, is freedom to explore boundless creative possibilitiesBigtooth Studio uses the latest technology to advance storyboards into fully visualised 3D sequences.

Enabling producers to refine and coordinate budgets and allowing directors to creatively explore ideas in a virtual prototype before getting on set.
