STEAMmates: Meet Faye Rowse, founder of Bespoke Digs.

Bespoke Digs is a company born from a love of rabbits. Rabbits are the third most popular pet in the UK but also the most misunderstood and abused.

hey are striving to revolutionise rabbit welfare in the UK by creating humane and aesthetically pleasing alternative indoor rabbit habitats.

We spoke to Faye about how STEAMhouse has helped her develop her brand, and her story so far.

“I was recommended STEAMhouse’s services by the Prince’s Trust, but couldn’t believe they could possibly have all the amenities I needed to get started. It seemed too good to be true! It wasn’t until I came to STEAMhouse, for a Route to Market course, where I was taken on a tour by Sophia so I could see it for myself and I signed up there and then.

In December I built my first prototype at STEAMhouse. I got a small grant from the Prince’s Trust for materials, did my induction in the workshop and got started. I already had a fair bit of experience in carpentry but the help from Jan (STEAMhouse Wood Technician) from a furniture perspective was invaluable. Just having the space to build the prototype is one thing, but the tools available from pencils to panel saw are like something from a dream.”

Alongside the wood workshops, Faye has utilised the digital suites in order to work on her 3D models and has used the laser printer to create key elements of her prototype.

Since quarantine started, staff have still made themselves available for support. There are still courses and webinars available online which really help with maintaining momentum in a time of uncertainty.

STEAMhouse are here to support you, through all aspects of your start-up and personal development as a business owner.
