The STEAMhouse Create programme has finally come to a close at the end of March.
STEAMhouse Create was a programme powered by Birmingham City University, in partnership with Eastside Projects with additional funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
The programme was designed to support resource-poor businesses to bring their new products, projects, or services to life. It provides technical support and know-how with our team of technical experts, as well as business support, events, and workshops all designed to encourage more businesses to innovate, learn, create, and grow.
It’s been open to sole traders, micro, small and medium-sized enterprises based in England since 2018, with a focus on four sectors:
- Creative & Digital
- Advanced Manufacturing
- Health & Life Sciences
- Low Carbon
The STEAMhouse Create programme helped achieved amazing results in its runtime, which you can watch below:
While we are sad to see the closure of the programme, the team are proud with the achievements of supporting over 400 businesses with 12 hours or more support, supporting over 60 research collaborations along with BCU academics, developed roughly 300 products and new innovation processes, and distributed £155,000 of innovation and commercialisation grants, all with high levels of customer satisfaction.
But out of the ashes rises our next great adventure – our new STEAMhouse Memberships!
Whether you’re looking to get your idea off the ground with Associate membership, find your business a home in our Incubator or Studio, or even looking to create your first prototype with our Maker membership, there’s something for everyone at STEAMhouse.
