It’s been a busy month for the STEAM Crew, with a special highlight to Laura Veart, our STEAM International Programme Manager, who was invited to present the Urban M Project at Interreg Europe’s Policy Learning Platform.
Urban M is a project that we’ve been managing for the last six years, and the objective is to ensure that collaborative makerspaces thrive. We’re happy to say that this has been achieved by identifying best practice, testing policy approaches and supporting our cities/regions in creating receptive conditions
Our aim was to demonstrate the impact that cooperative facilities can have on innovation and establish a European network of advocates
Interreg Europe was organised by the Interreg Europe Programme, and this year had a focus around “Rethinking Local Policies”. Over 170 delegates attended in Ghent, Belgium, and they were welcomed by Mathias De Clercq, Mayor of Ghent and Erwin Siweris, Interreg Europe Director
The purpose of the event was to explore innovative approaches to shape the future of local policies and drive positive impact across, through workshops, peer review sessions and inspiring study visits showcasing local initiatives.
