Collaboration is at the heart of all our learning experiences at STEAMhouse.
Whether you’re learning how to make biomaterials, 3D-print mechanical components, or understand an innovation method – practical and collaborative learning will be central to your experience.
Sessions typically run 10am-4pm with plenty of space for conversation with your peers and personal reflection. We provide all the tools, facilitation, kit and equipment so you can focus on what matters most.
Based in the heart of the UK, and at the edge of Birmingham’s creative and knowledge quarters, STEAMhouse makes it easy to connect with the latest ideas, skills and innovation expertise.
The way we shape our learning experiences at STEAMhouse is founded on a learner-centred, collaborative and experience-based approach. We facilitate learning, avoiding talking at people, instead enabling peer-to-peer learning and reflection.
We deliberately invite in practitioners from industry to inform and inspire participants about the state of innovation practice today. Every session is supported by STEAMhouse innovation tools and methods that people can take away and apply to their development work right away.
Explore, experiment and create with fellow participants by getting hands on with innovation tools and methods.
We ensure you’ll never miss an opportunity to learn from your peers by creating space to say the unsaid and ask brave questions.
Work with other participants on challenging tasks that stretch your thinking to support collective problem- solving.
We make space for critical thinking that helps you and your team make decisions and learn from failure.
I really liked the worksheets and switching it up between absorbing new information and then trying to apply it to your own business. You leave the day feeling really excited to go and apply what you’ve learnt. I’ve got clear actions out of today.

It was nice to be taught by someone who was inspired about it. Not just from a scientific and engineering point of view but as an art form, who was passionate about creating new and interesting things.
Luke Parkes – Mechanical Engineer
STEAMhouse is great, it’s a really lovely positive environment with just the right level of equipment and skill.
