Chris trained as a jewellery designer/maker and has a post-graduate Master of Arts degree in jewellery and related products.
Based in the metal workshop, his role at STEAMhouse is to provide support and encouragement to members as they experiment, try something new and develop their skills.
Though he has specialist expertise in metalworking, he is equally comfortable using digital technologies and a range of other materials. Before joining STEAMhouse Chris worked as a self-employed jeweller, making and designing for business, jewellery houses and retailers throughout the United Kindom by providing specialist support for digital design and streamlined production processes.
A key area of interest is how communication and creative problem solving are intertwined through co-working relationships, and he is particularly interested in thinking through how we can positively harness this power to improve our everyday lives.
You will usually find him in the workshops looking for something … mainly new things to learn. This year’s new skill is all about digital sculpting for prototyping and production.
