A fact about Robin Kay

Ideal STEAMlabs delegate

Hardcore Punk and grunge loving, spicy food devotee. Worryingly optimistic, but ever so sceptical Coventry City supporter. Perpetual air-cooled Beetle restorer.

I came from the music industry, working in licensing and royalties for Ministry of Sound, Defected, Azuli, Relentless and Sanctuary Records.   Had an epiphany resulting from the emergence of Napster and peer-to-peer files sharing…free music how can you compete with that? I decided to jump ship to the opposite side and explore digital and interactive media with the authoring of websites, which resulted in teaching this subject for 16  + years. Now, my interests include the exploration and creation of immersive media experiences with emerging new technologies.

I imagine myself collaborating and exploring practical creative solutions with STEAMhouse members so they are able to identify the opportunities of emerging and innovative technology and deploy it to  the benefit of their user’s needs .

Collaboration is about working together to create new and innovative solutions without fear of failure.

Challenges that can be solved by collaboration for innovation/growth is the blindered view of problems which do not take into consideration the opportunities that may emerge from another viewpoint.

To provide an opportunity to gain practical experience and exposure to new ideas and ways of working.

How to maximise frictionless immersive media technology access for the benefit of users.

My extensive music collection…even the guilty pleasures, food for the soul don’t you know!

My childhood was spent in Los Angeles and I do a really mean Phall.

Sir Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the world-wide web.
